How clean is the air?

EPA's Air Quality System annual summaries for 2025: the map shows the annual average of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) at the monitor nearest each ZIP's population-weighted center, against the 9 µg/m³ national standard adopted in 2024. Ohio has only 38 PM2.5 monitors, so a reading can come from a city 30 miles away; the card gives the distance, the nearest ozone monitor's fourth-highest daily reading (the design-value ingredient, 70 ppb standard), and the county's Air Quality Index day counts where the county has a monitor of its own. EPA's ECHO adds the permitted air sources inside the ZIP, their classification and their recent violations. EPA's Green Book says whether the county is in nonattainment or under a maintenance plan for any standard. A second county row counts the good, moderate and worse days indexed so far in 2026, as far as EPA's daily file runs.
