Privacy policy
What we collect
- Every visitor: page views, rough location (city), device and referring page, counted by Google Analytics and Google AdSense when they are on, by Metricool (the tool we schedule our social posts with), and by our own Matomo analytics (no cookie, kept on our server). Matomo also records clicks, scrolling, some session replays, which map tools are used and which result is picked from the search box. Nothing you type into a form field is recorded, with one exception: words sent to the search results page.
- Voting or flagging without an account: a random id in a cookie and a salted hash of your IP address, to stop double votes and abuse.
- Members: your email, name and ZIP code; what you contribute or send (notes, photos with their camera and location data stripped, price reports, event links); your profile; room chat (kept 7 days) and private messages (kept a year), read by a moderator only when reported.
- Signed-in activity: every time you sign in and out, which pages you open and for how long, what you press and search, the games and rooms you use, and where you walk in the 3D worlds, all tied to your account, so we can see how each member uses the site and what works. Recorded whatever your browser's Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track setting. Seen only by the people who run the site.
- 3D worlds: where visitors walk and what they use, deleted after 90 days. Tied to your account when you are signed in. If you are not signed in, no name, account or IP address is attached, and it is not sent at all if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
What is public
Your public name and what you publish, with its public history of changes. Your email, ZIP code, street address and phone number are never shown. Front Porch profiles show only what your privacy settings allow. If you call everyone to a game from a game room, your Front Porch name and that room are shown to everyone on the site for three minutes.
Storage, deletion and your rights
Your data is kept on our own hosting in the United States, never sold, and shared only when the law requires. Your account settings let you see, correct, export or delete it. Deleting your account removes your details, profile, photos, messages, activity record and 3D-worlds trail at once; what you already published stays, credited to "Former member". Accounts are for adults 18 and over.
