Old maps and photos
We show historical maps and photographs held by libraries, archives and museums, and each one is credited to the institution that holds it. Where the copyright status of an item is unknown or has not been checked, we publish it anyway. If you hold the rights to something here and want it removed, contact us with the page address and we will take it down.
Credit and licences
Images are credited to their source, with the licence or rights statement the holder gives where there is one. The page text, locator maps and compiled data are licensed CC BY 4.0; see how to cite for reuse.
