How close is the nearest gas pipeline?
The Energy Information Administration's map of natural gas transmission pipelines, the large interstate and intrastate lines that move gas between states and to city gates, republished on ArcGIS Online by Esri's Federal User Community. The map shows the distance from each ZIP's population center to the nearest operating line; the card gives the miles of transmission pipe inside the ZIP by operator. Local distribution mains under the streets, gathering lines from wells and liquids pipelines are not included, and the federal map is generalized, so a line can be a few hundred yards off.
1,229 of 1,233 ZIPs have data; median 2.2 mi.
