How socially vulnerable is this ZIP?
The CDC's Social Vulnerability Index scores every census tract on sixteen Census measures of how hard a disaster or an outbreak would hit its people: poverty, unemployment, housing cost burden, education and health insurance; age, disability and single-parent households; language and minority status; and crowded housing, mobile homes, group quarters and households without a vehicle. The map shows each ZIP's population-weighted percentile among Ohio tracts, from the least vulnerable fifth to the most; the card breaks the score into its four themes. Emergency planners use it to decide where to send help first; it says nothing about the water.
1,229 of 1,233 ZIPs have data; median 43.1 percentile.
