How has this place's economy changed over the last century?

What a place's economy looked like a lifetime ago, next to what it looks like now. For the county: its population in 1900 against the latest estimate, and the year it peaked; the number of farms and the acres they worked in 1997 and 2017; total employment in 1986 and 2023; the house price index from the first year the county was tracked; and current-dollar county GDP for 2001 and 2024. For the city or village most of the ZIP's residents live in, the same long view from the Census survey -- population, median household income, median home value, poverty and unemployment, each from its first published year to its latest -- plus the Zillow home value index where Zillow publishes one for that place. The county figures come from historical Census county counts, the Census Bureau's population estimates, the Census County Business Patterns, the USDA Census of Agriculture, the Federal Housing Finance Agency and the Bureau of Economic Analysis; the place figures from the Census American Community Survey five-year estimates and Zillow. Nothing is adjusted for inflation unless the card says so, survey estimates for small villages are noisy, and a ZIP whose largest place is a township gets the county section only, because the place series covers cities and villages. The map keeps its water colors while this topic is selected: the record is on the card, not in a color.
