How far is the nearest fire station?
Fire and EMS stations from the USGS National Map structures inventory (1,772 Ohio stations after removing three duplicate records and checking Columbus- and Cleveland-area stations against the cities' own station lists, plus the Indiana, Michigan and Pennsylvania stations near the state line). Distance is straight-line miles from the ZIP's population-weighted center, so a station across a river may be nearer by air than by road. Kentucky and West Virginia stations across the Ohio River are not counted, and the department that answers a call is set by jurisdiction and mutual aid, not distance.
1,229 of 1,233 ZIPs have data; median 0.8 mi.
