The checks

Each in the checker's own words. This site does not restate another organization's finding in its own voice.

The ad goes on to misleadingly say that Brown’s opponent in the Senate race, Republican Sen. Jon Husted, voted to block the release of the Epstein files, a claim we’ve written about before.

Our check against the record

The record does not settle it

Checked against U.S. Senate roll call vote 512 of the 119th Congress, Sept. 10, 2025: motion to table S.Amdt. 3849 (Schumer) to S. 2296, "To direct the Attorney General to make publicly available documents related to Jeffrey Epstein".

The records: Roll Call Vote 119th Congress, 1st Session, Vote 512: On the Motion to Table S.Amdt. 3849 to S. 2296 · Ohio Senate Candidates Spar Over Donations Tied, Loosely or Not, to Epstein · Republican Ads Distort the Facts in Claiming Democratic Support for ‘Sex Changes’ for Kids

Context

The ad responds to Senate Leadership Fund ads about Brown and refers to Husted's Sept. 10, 2025 vote on an amendment to a defense bill directing the attorney general to release documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. The Senate voted 51-49 to table that amendment, with Husted voting Yea. On Nov. 19, 2025 the standalone Epstein Files Transparency Act passed the Senate by unanimous consent, meaning no senator objected.
