PolitiFact reported that data centers in Ohio received about $2.5 billion in state and local tax incentives from 2017 to 2024, by an Ohio Chamber of Commerce count, and that the Tax Credit Authority formally approved the exemptions under Govs. Kasich and DeWine, while Husted, as lieutenant governor, promoted the projects and publicly defended the incentives. PolitiFact rated Mostly True a similar Brown ad line of Sept. 3, 2026, that Husted "led the push to bring data centers to Ohio and gave billions of tax dollars to make it happen."
