Dennis D. Donovan
Born near Texas, Ohio, Donovan served as postmaster and mayor of Deshler, in the Ohio House, and in Congress from 1891 to 1895. He practiced law in Napoleon from 1897 until his death there.

Life story
Dennis Donovan was born January 31, 1859, near Texas, Ohio. He studied law at Valparaiso University and later graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1895.
In Deshler he was postmaster from 1885 to 1888, then served two terms as mayor. He sat in the Ohio House in 1887 and 1889, and as a Democrat served two terms in the US House, from 1891 to 1895, first for the 6th district and then the 5th.
He returned to law in Deshler, moved to Napoleon in 1897, and lived there until he died on April 21, 1941. He had married Ginevra Waltimire in 1891; she lived to the age of 110.
