Ohio’s farmers feed our families, support local economies, and carry on a proud agricultural tradition. Too many are being squeezed by rising costs, unstable markets, and policies that favor large corporations.

Ohio has offered major tax breaks to attract data centers, even as these facilities place new demands on the electric grid. Families and small businesses should not be forced to carry the costs while large corporations receive special treatment.

For too many Ohioans, buying or renting a home has become unaffordable. As a community developer and Cincinnati City Council member, I helped create housing and strengthen neighborhoods. As Treasurer of Ohio, I will work to expand partnerships that support affordable housing and help first-time homebuyers, because stable housing helps families, communities, and Ohio’s economy thrive.

If the State of Ohio, and its $280 billion investment portfolio, were a person, it would be the second-wealthiest person on Earth. That means with the right strategy, we can use Ohio’s revenue and investment dollars to drive increased returns and reinvest those dollars back in our communities.

June 2, 2023 · action
A former aide to his council office resigned in May 2023 and filed an ethics complaint saying she was forced out after raising concerns that his campaign manager, who was not a city employee, was directing council staff to campaign work on city time. Cincinnati’s Office of Ethics and Good Government investigated and found insufficient evidence that city resources were used for campaign purposes. A separate part of the complaint, that the campaign manager had provided the aide free housing, was referred to the Ohio Ethics Commission because the city office lacked the authority to investigate it. The city paid the former aide a $30,000 settlement plus accrued leave, and Walsh said he might reimburse that cost from his council office budget.
