Life story

Robert Stranahan was the youngest of the Stranahan brothers. He worked in the stockroom of the Albert Champion Company in Boston from about 1907, and finished his Harvard classes ahead of a 1908 graduation.

His brother Frank was treasurer of the company, which was founded in June 1905; another brother, Spencer, was a clerk.

In 1910 the company moved to Toledo to be close to Willys-Overland. The factory was at 900 Upton Avenue, as documented in 1937.

The R.A. Stranahan Arboretum and the Stranahan Theater in Toledo carry the family name.
