    Benjamin Suarez, a North Canton businessman, was convicted by a federal jury of witness tampering in connection with a scheme reimbursing his employees and their spouses for contributions to Mandel's 2012 Senate campaign; his company's CFO pleaded guilty to the underlying straw-donor scheme. Mandel was not personally charged.
