Where they stand
Data centers
I certainly am not suggesting that we put out the welcome mat for data centers in Ohio, but if these highly profitable entities are going to show up in our state, we need to make sure that they pay property taxes that correspond to their whole value. While this proposal is not a panacea for addressing the controversial issue of data centers, it certainly will help make sure that their continued development at least pays their fair share rather than continuing to shift the burden onto our homeowners.
Source: Rep. Troy Introduces Legislation to Ban Property Tax Abatements for Data Centers
Property taxes
I have consistently fought for long overdue adjustments to Ohio’s Homestead Exemption program to get more help to our seniors and disabled citizens on fixed incomes struggling to pay their property taxes. This provision, which I spoke in favor of on the House floor, will provide some meaningful relief on next year’s property tax bills. I also urged my colleagues in the House to enact increased permanent help every year for our citizens desperately in need of a reduced property tax burden.
Veterans
Far too often, we’ve seen a proliferation of unscrupulous individuals and entities that take advantage of our vulnerable populations, especially our seniors and veterans. We believe that enactment of this legislation will go a long way in protecting those that served our nation in military service and ensure that they receive the benefits to which they are entitled without being scammed.

Recorded votes
Dan Troy cast 1,008 Yea or Nay votes on the roll calls we hold, across 3 terms from 2021 to 2026, all in the Ohio General Assembly, from the Ohio Legislature. Each term opens to every roll call, with the question, the result, how Dan Troy voted and how the majority of their party voted.
| Term | Chamber | Yea | Nay | Did not vote | With party |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 136th General Assembly, 2025–2026 | Ohio House, district 23 | 281 | 27 | not recorded | 50% of 50 |
| 135th General Assembly, 2023–2024 | Ohio House, district 23 | 262 | 33 | not recorded | 77% of 39 |
| 134th General Assembly, 2021–2022 | Ohio House, district 60 | 337 | 68 | not recorded | 70% of 87 |
"With party" counts only roll calls on which most Republicans and most Democrats voted opposite ways. The Ohio Legislature records who voted Yea and who voted Nay and no one else, so an absence cannot be told from an abstention and neither is counted; only floor votes are listed.
