Buckeye Furnace in the Hanging Rock Iron Region
Buckeye Furnace made iron from 1852 to 1894 as part of the Hanging Rock Iron Region, which helped Ohio supply iron to the Union during the Civil War. The state bought the site in 1935 and rebuilt the buildings in the 1960s. It is now open for tours.
