Built by Bucyrus-Erie as a model 4250-W dragline, Big Muskie mined coal in Ohio from 1969 to 1991 for the Central Ohio Coal Company, then part of American Electric Power. Its bucket held 220 cubic yards, the machine weighed 13,500 short tons and stood 222 feet tall. It was dismantled in 1999; the bucket is at Miners' Memorial Park in Morgan County.
