Tri-County Mall, Springdale Ohio: farm fields to a mall
Tri-County Mall from the air in 1938, 1968 and 2018. In 1938 this corner of Springdale was farm fields. The mall opened on July 21, 1960 as an open-air center with 51 stores; Sears came in 1967 and the rest was enclosed in 1968, the year of the middle photo. A 1990-92 expansion added a second level. It closed in May 2022, 62 years after it opened. Hamilton County's CAGIS flew the old photos, and every one of them is on our map.
